Day 7

Not such a great run today. No scores posted but expect a 4 late stage 1, being slow in the early part where it was smooth cost us at the end where it got rough and slippery. Stage 2 we were going great but stuck behind a very slow log truck put us in a few mins late. New rear brakes at lunch gave us a late start to stage 3 and a short excursion off the road from wet clay killed the stage. Stage 4 was closer but running with no cars in front the amount of oncoming traffic without warning made it very hard to keep the pace. Definitely lost our 1st position in the repocharge. In aulbry for the night then last day tomorrow. ********************************************************************** This message is intended for the addressee named and may contain privileged information or confidential information or both. Best Regards,

Day 2 Goulburn to Merimbula

475km 4 stages classes3,4,4and 4. Stage one went well, hit a roo (it was fine) then hit it again and again , too stupid to get out of the way!
Stage 2 started well very twisty up mountains but then got extremely rough and slow. Lots of carnage to cars. We broke a wheel stud, dented a rim and run out of brakes. Lucky the wheel was just hanging on when we stopped as it could have been interesting! Lightning McQueen was upgraded to rear wheel steering

2018, it begins again!

Heading off to Goulburn for the start of the 30th kidney Kar rally.
Took a detour through belengalow state Forrest for some dirt practice and a 6 pack of donuts and some flight time (videos to come) once the tires were warmed up we were back on the road to Goulburn. After registration I found out just how bad a navigator dad was

Day 4

Tibooburra to broken hill
518Kms

Last day before the rest day, 53 gates to open and close luckily we had a gate opener in the back seat.

Stopped in packsaddle for lunch just after the trip computer stopped working and filled the car up.

Pulled into broken hill and found someone with a starter motor that was pulled out of a car that got hit by a monster truck and fireworks set off in it, lucky we only needed the one piece that wasn’t destroyed.

Best Regards,
Tyler

Day 3

White cliffs to Tibooburra

Left early in the morning, 4 million donuts later we arrived in Tibooburra. Now white cliffs doesn’t seem like the middle of nowhere , slept on the floor while Gerry from car 26 snored the roof off, sounded like a truck was crashing through the building.

Best Regards,
Tyler

Day 2

Cobar to White cliffs via Tilpa, 554kms of dirt because there is no tar roads that go into White cliffs

Hit two kangaroos today, one of them jumped out in front of the car and got a clip on the tail (he survived) the other was already dead and it was too dusty to see him so we went straight over him. Came in second place today!

Thought we had a broken fuel tank but it turned out ok. Air filter cover was broken but nothing 100 mile an hour tape couldn’t fix .

We slept underground in the motel, it was really creepy and weird it was so quiet!

The light shaft in our room

More day 1

The last corner at end of stage before lunch the car in front of us “where’s Wally” was in the roof! Lucky everyone was ok but the car was destroyed

Day 1

Griffith to Cobar via Condobolin 4 stages, 595Km

Had one flat tire and lost the starter motor. Lots of pushing to do!

Best regards,
Tyler

Last day! Day 10

Today we drove on lots of tracks that you can get lost on easily, but we didn’t get lost. The last stage was very slippery the roads looked like this:

We had a big presentation dinner in moama and got the young uns award and said goodbye to everyone then went to bed. Wow that was a long trip, now time for the way back home.

Best Regards,
Tyler
